So i went to work like it was just another day on Monday feb 11th. Come home and cooked dinner and just layed around and watched T.V. went to bed and watched T.V. in there for a while until about 10:30 pm. I started to get contractions. They come slow for a while. While they still hurt I figured that they where braxton hicks like the others that i have had that week. So i decided that I would try to get some sleep at around 11: 30. Then by 12am my contractions started getting stronger and closer together. AND THEY HURT. Tried to get comfortable for another hour or so and then by 1am i was done and ready to go to the hospital. grabbed Jamies arm while he was sleeping and told him that it was time to go. We got up and packed the rest of out stuff and headed to the hospital. we got there around 1:45am and into a bed around 2am. the nurse checked me and said that i was 4 cm dilated and so then she started asking questions for so that i could get a epidural. that took like 20mins -30mins but felt like a lifetime cause my contractions where only like 2-3mins apart and very painful. So finally the nurse checked me again around 3pm and said that i was morning along very fast and that i was already 7-8 cm so she hurried and called my doctor and then finally around 4am the nurse come in to give me my epidural. Well the epidural takes like 20mins to half hour to kick in and she was ready to be born about 15- 20 mins later therefore it did not have time to kick in.
Man that hurts. but it was all worth it. She was 6lbs 6oz 19 1/2 inches. She did well on the apgar test. she scores 8-9. She is very very cute. But what mom wouldn't think that about her baby girl. she is very small and for those of u how know me that know that i have tons of clothes for her but she doesn't fit into any of the new born stuff. she swims in. we had to go get preemie clothes.
Since i had her in the middle of the night we stayed in the hospital until Thursdays feb 14th. She was our valentines day present to each other. We took lots of pics and we also have videos. fell free to check them out. And if u haven't had a chance to see her then just call and we can make sure that u do. She is going very well she had her first pediatrician appointment on Friday. The doctor says that she is doing great.
we are both doing well. have had some visitors which is nice. Jamie was lucky enough to be able to take some time off work and help out and get use to her schedule. He is going to go back to work on the 25th feb. More to come in a couple of days once we get settle in and get some more sleep. ( like that will happen any time soon hahaha ).
Love ya all

Strike One....
Well first off, Everything is okay (isn't that a great way to start off a blog post?). Yesterday evening, Sarah started feeling pretty lousy and getting sick. So we called her doctors office and spoke with one of the on-call nurses. She had been having about 1 contraction an hour, her lower abdomen was pretty sore and she was not able to keep any food down. So the nurse told us to go to the hospital directly to Labor and Delivery. She even ended the conversation with "Good luck with your delivery"....
We didn't alert the masses cause we were pretty sure Morgan wasn't ready to join us yet. We got to Labor and Delivery around 9:45. Had to wait for the nurse to put Sarah into the computer, even though we had already preregistered weeks ago. Then they put her on 2 monitors to keep an eye on Morgan and to see if Sarah was having any contractions. After 45 minutes of monitoring they said the baby is fine, but Sarah didn't have any contractions. Then the staff OB check her, she's 2.5cm dilated, 80% effaced and the baby is at zero station. So they decided to send us home. The nurse was very nice and Sarah and I both thought she looked familure and the nurse even started asking why she recognized us but none of us could place each other. She even took the time to explain all the monitors and graphs to us and what they were looking for, as well as how to turn off the alarm should Sarah move and make it go off (which she did). Morgan didn't like the monitors too much she would go crazy every few minutes and kick them which you could hear as loud "thumps" over the rooms loud speaker.
After leaving the hospital around 11:30, We were both pretty hungry so we went to Denny's next to the hospital and both had All-American Slams. We got home around 1am brought in the few things we put in the car and went to bed. Around 3am Sarah got sick again, we've decided to lay low today and I'll keep my eye on her. She's got a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon and we will find out whats going on then, as well as when they want to induce her. Our last appointment the doctor told us that she would only let Sarah go 1 week past her due date, so we will see.
Sarah has not progressed as far as dilation or effacement in 2 weeks, and she's not really showing any signs of full blown labor either. But from what i understand, one minute your sitting around the next your water breaks or the contractions start picking up. But Sarah and I are both starting to think she's going to be induced which doesn't bother us much but it still means 1 more week..
So far this morning Sarah's been able to hold down a couple pieces of toast and sprint and is sleeping on the couch with Charlie.
Thats all for now.

Almost there
Monday the 28th, We had our one week appointment. They checked me to see how far along I am and Dr. Sullivan said that I am 2 centimeters dilated and 75% effaced. The doctor said that I am moving along very well. Though they say that you can be dilated at 2 for a week or two, we are hoping that this means that she is on her way.
I've been havening some mild contractions the past week or so. The doctors says that it is normal and that we should get excited until they are about 5 mins apart or my water breaks. then we should head to the hospital. I have been trying to walk as much as i can so that she will come out but no such luck yet. Other than that not much else is going on. Trying to rest or sleep as much as i can before she comes. Have finally cut back at work which has been nice.
We will be sure to keep everyone updated on any news we hear. Hope that everyone one is well and we love ya all. cant wait to call you with that good news.
love ya all

Baby shower
We had our baby shower yesterday, January the 19th. I just wanted to thank everyone that came. We had a great turn out and got SO much stuff. It means a lot to Jamie and I that everyone was able to be there and share the joy with us. We could not have done it with out My mom, grandma and aunt also Amanda . Also thanks to Jamies family for helping with the center piece's and food. They turned out very cute. Also thanks to Dave and Kathy for helping us bring everything home and unpack it and setting some of it up. Jamie and David put together the pack and play together while Kathy and I went through everything else.
We got a lot of stuff that we needed. Then we used the gift cards this morning and got the car seat and stroller. We just got done putting it together. Its very cool. Its one that the car seat snaps into the stroller. It is light and and folds up easy. We also put up our mobile and finished washing her new clothes. I think that we are pretty much ready with her room and stuff. The last thing that we have to get is the crib mattress which my mom and I are going to go get on Tuesday. Jamie's work is also having a shower for us on Tuesday afternoon.
I have my weekly doctor appointment Monday at 9am. Its just a regular check up. She will measure me and listen to the heart beat. She will start to check and see if I am dilated at the next appointment on the 28th. Other than that there is not a whole lot else going on. Getting very tired cause i don't sleep well. Cant get comfy and having to get up and pee 3 time a night doesn't help. But I guess it will only get worse when she gets here. So i may just get use to it.
Well i think that's all for know. If anything else comes up i will let u all know. Love ya all and cant wait to call u and tell you that SHE COMING!!!!! talk to you soon
love Sarah, James, and MORGAN :)

5 more weeks
5 weeks 3days or 39 day to go...... But who's counting ??? I cant believe how fast that 9 months has gone by. I fell like just yesterday that i was standing in the bathroom when KIM told me i was prego hahahaha :). Good times. Now everyone that was pregnant when i was has already had there little bundle of joy. Kim has sweet smiley Tyler. My sister had my adorable nephew Lukas and as of sat morning Kristy has her little tiny man. I'm so happy for all of them.
Now its my turn to become a mom. :) Everyone asks me are you ready? sometime I say yes cause i am physically and then other times i think to my self are you ever ready. Ready for sleepless nights and crying and diapers. The next 18 years. Then u see the looks on the New moms faces the first time they hold there tiny little baby and you think yes . I'm ready for that. I ready to share my life with this little person that we made together. I'm ready to teach her all the things that i know good and bad. I'm ready to see her little face and big lips hahahaha for the first time. SO YES I'm ready.
We are almost done with her room. There are a few finishing touches that still have to be done. The mural that my wonderful mom has made is almost done. We just have to finish painting it.
Its coming together great. We also have 2 baby showers coming up . One in January the 19Th for the family and friends. (thanks to everyone that's helping with that) Then Jamie's work also throws and shower which i thought was very nice. We will do that on January the 22ND.
My next doctors appointment is coming up on the January 14Th. my doctor told me that we they are going to do the strep B test. Then the appointments start every week. Our last appointment that we went to we pre-registered at the hospital.
So work had been getting a little hard for me to keep up with. I'm still working 8hrs and day and its getting to me. By the time that i get home my feet and back hurt and i don't want to do anything. So i've though about just cutting back my hours a little. I would like to work from 11am to 430pm instead of 11to 6pm. That way i still have time for my doctor appointment in the morning. We will see how that works.
Last Thursday the 3rd we had meet our parents as teachers consultant. She is really nice. She brought over lots of pamphlets and a DVD that we watched. She will be coming back for the next visit on march the 5Th. Then she will get to meet baby Morgan. She will come once every 2 months during the school year. She will give up tips and advice about how much Morgan should be learning and how to help her learn more. I think that this program is very nice. Its free and they come to you. They also have classes that u can go to up at the elementary school. They have this one class that i would like to take her to its baby and mom exercises.
Well thats about all for my update. I just want to say thanks to everyone who has helped out with her room and the shower and to everyone for being here with us. It means a lot to all 3 of us and we cant wait to share our happiness with all of u when she decides to come.

We are Certified!
Hello everyone, Sorry about the length of time between the last post. We've been so busy with the holiday's that we've been neglecting this site a bit. Any way's I'll start off with recent stuff and then go back to the unanswered questions.
Sarah's last appointment with her OB was the 17th, it was supposed to be the 14th but with my grandfathers passing earlier that week we postponed so we could go be with my grandmother. Everything is fine, Morgan's heart rate was 142bpm which is good and the baby and mommy are in overall good health. Sarah has to start counting Morgan's movements as well, if she isn't moving allot that indicates that Sarah's stressing herself and may have to go on bed rest or a shorter work schedule. Sarah's starting to really feel the effects of being pregnant now, she's tired allot and achy all over especially after work. so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before she has to start cutting back her hours. Her next appointment is New Years Eve, and we have been asked to pre-register at the hospital at that time. I also have to meet with my work HR department to get some paperwork completed for paternity leave and insurance for Morgan, i guess the time is nearing.
Morgans been very active, she moves around allot, i still have trouble feeling her move some times when Sarah says i shouldn't but as long as Sarah feels her moving around I'm happy. You can definitely tell she's in there though and she's so big now she goes across both sides of Sarah's tummy now.
As far as the birthing classes, we have completed them even though we only went to 2 classes, our second class was postponed due to weather, and the third class we were in Branson. But we did attend the final class, which was very informative. We went on a tour of the hospital, although it's not the one we will deliver at the equipment and procedures are the same so it was nice to become familiarized with the room. Our first class was packed with 15+ couples, the last class had about 8 people total in it. Which Sarah and I thought was interesting seeing as people paid for these classes. But on the flip side we didn't learn a whole lot, it's mostly stuff you learn from watching baby story or reading expecting parents books/magazines. We received a diaper bag which is cool it's got allot of free samples and a cold storage compartment in it. Also since there were only 8 people and the instructor had allot of free goodies we got several bottles, nipples and pacifiers as well. Free stuff is always good! After the class the teach stayed with Sarah and I and we discussed some of the items we had missed then she gave us a certificate that we are now certified to have a child! :)
The Nursery is almost complete, Sarah's mother Joyce a.k.a G-Ma did an outline of the mural for Morgans room. And also started painting the mural, about 75% of the palm tree is done but the monkey and parakeet are not started yet. You can see the progress she made in the pictures I've uploaded.
The baby shower is set for the 19th of January and the invitations were sent out last week. I created the invitations myself which I'm really proud of. My sister Jennifer and her two youngest assisted Sarah and I in folding, packing and labeling the invitations which made it go so much faster. My oldest sister Jennifer is really looking forward to finally becoming an Aunt, as she's been a mother for 13 years now with no nieces or nephews. My younger sister Vicky will be an aunt 4 times over when Morgan comes, and I'm sure she's excited also.
We have a 3d/4d ultrasound on the 29th that we are very excited about we have not "seen" Morgan since about 22 weeks and that was a standard ultrasound. She will be just 3 days shy of 34 weeks when we have the next one. We spoke with a woman during our last birthing class who showed us pictures of her son taken with the 4D ultrasound at the same place we are going and they are amazing! We cannot wait! Being a guy couldn't decipher what i was looking at in the regular ultrasounds so hopefully I'll fair a bit well this time around. We are allowed 6 guests so both of my sisters will be there, Sarah's Parents and Sarah's best friend Amanda. As soon as we have pictures they will be online i promise!
Lastly we did chose my childhood pediatrician for Morgan, our meeting with him went very well and Sarah liked him allot. Plus he has Saturday hours and is less then 5 minutes from our house and knows my family history.
Anyways that's all the news that is news for now, have a Merry Christmas!

Birthing Classes
Sorry about the delay in posting, We've been busy with the upcoming holidays that we don't have a chance to update this as quickly as before.
On the 30th of November Sarah had her first every 2 week doctors appointment. Everything is good, she doesn't have gestational diabetes and because of her family history of blood clotting they did a few blood tests for something called Factor V we will get the results of that in a week or so. Also Morgan's heart rate was 135 and Sarah's tummy measured in at 28 weeks which she's actually 29 but the doctor said that was okay. Every day Sarah looks more and more pregnant it's amazing how fast things "grow". Her next appointment is the 14th, i wasn't able to attend her last one but i'll be there for this one. Here Dad went in my place.
On the 29th we started the first of 4 birthing classes at St. Joes Health Center. The first class was very informative i learned allot of the terminology that the doctors/nurses use during pregnancy so i won't be asking so many questions. Unfortinatly we registered for the birthing classes at the wrong St. Joes so we won't get a tour to see where to go and when to go there but during Sarah's next visit to her OB we will go up to labor and delivery and see if they have charts and graphs or something. I hate surprises and i want to know where i need to be and when i need to be there cause I'm sure it's going to be chaos when she does arrive and i don't want to add to the madness. We also had the joy of watching a birthing video and this isn't something you'd see on TLC or Discovery channel, there were no blurry bars to cover up things. I made it through that so i was pretty proud of myself. And i'm sure with all the commotion going on in the delivery room i won't have a chance to get sick. Well time to run, Sarah and I are going to the Mills to Baby's R Us to look at baby Travel Systems aka Strollers.
Love Ya,
-James/Sarah/Morgan

Coming Soon!
On the 21st Sarah goes into her 3rd Trimester of pregnancy, can you believe it?
On Friday the 16th we had another doctors appointment, the baby is doing fine, her heart rate is 140bpm which is good. And Sarah hasn't gained any weight since the last time we were there last month, the doctor said that is not an issue. Also she has to start going to doctors appointments every 2 weeks now until the last month then it's every week. Lastly she had to take another diabetes test that we are still awaiting the results from, she loves the juice they give her for that she just cannot get enough of it! :) Oh and the doctor told us that unless there are any complications there will be no more ultrasounds, kinda a bummer but poor momma and Morgan have had enough pokes and pictures.
A co-worker of mine runs an 3d/4d ultrasound studio (www.ultrasona.com) here in St. Charles, we are going to find out what it will cost to have a 4D done and if it's not too much we may do that otherwise we will wait until little Morgan arrives. Sarah has another appointment on Monday for another shot in the bum to follow up the one she had a few months ago. She's looking forward to that too, hopefully they will give her more glucose juice too!
Starting the 29th of November we start our child birthing classes. they will run for 4 weeks then in January we have a breast feeding class also, you have to have a child birthing class in order to receive an epidural or you have to watch a video while your in labor then you can get it. At least thats what we've been told.
Tuesday (20th) we are meeting with a pediatrician, he was my family's pediatrician when i was growing up and it turns out he practices out in Wentzville about 5 miles from our house which will be perfect! Only down side is that he is not affiliated with the hospital we want to deliver at and the only one him and Sarah's OB are jointly affiliated with is Barnes St. Peters which is a bit of a drive for us when we have a hospital less then 10 minutes away. Basically after Morgan comes and her and Sarah are discharged from the hospital by the on-staff pediatrician we will need to make an appointment with our actual pediatrician within a week or so. No big deal.
Oh also i took down the pictures of the baby's room and posted new and improved versions and a couple of pictures of me!! DADDY TO BE!
Thanks for stopping bye!

On Friday the 16th we had another doctors appointment, the baby is doing fine, her heart rate is 140bpm which is good. And Sarah hasn't gained any weight since the last time we were there last month, the doctor said that is not an issue. almost done
So the room is coming along great. We are almost done. We have a few touch ups to do and my mom is also going to help me paint a mural on the wall that has the changing table on it. I would like to put a palm tree with monkeys and some other animals on there. Other than that we have a rocker coming and we are going to move the swing into the living room when the time gets closer. I'm really happy how the room has turned out so far. I want to thank everyone who has helped. It means a lot to Morgan, Jamie and I.
As far as doctors appointments go I have another one on the 16Th of Nov. I have to get another diabetes test again :( and a check up. Then on Nov the 19Th I have to go back to get a remicade shot (my second one). Other than that everything else is fine. I went on sat and got my flu shot.
